Primary School

(Grade 1-6)

Student wellbeing is of the highest priority; all of our students will be supported to grow and mature by being provided the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of everyday life including within local, national and international communities alongside the support needed to overcome adversary and develop resilience. We do not seek to overload students with excessive homework, tests, and pressure, but instead to teach students to find pleasure in learning and look forward to coming to school every day.

Our primary programme blends the best of the Czech National Curriculum with the best of the Pearson Edexcel iPrimary and International Primary Curriculum to produce a comprehensive and well-balanced curriculum which provides children with a solid foundation for the best start in in their academic career.

We teach the Primary curriculum in a bilingual format to provide a broad curriculum which introduces each child to a wide range of concepts, experiences, knowledge and skills and promotes spiritual, moral, social, cultural, intellectual and physical development. Language is a core priority for the development of our students and therefore is taught by a combination of qualified native speaking Czech and English teachers.

Students will receive their Czech school certificate, and externally assessed certificates in English as a First Language, Mathematics and Science from Pearson Edexcel; the world's largest UK education awarding body, at the end of their Primary Education.

Pre-University studies

(Grade 12 and 13)

Leonardo da Vinci Academy is currently looking towards the future. As of this moment our Pearson Edexcel accreditation allows us to offer International A-Levels. Leonardo da Vinci Academy is also a candidate school* for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.

By the time we open our school to its first cohort of Grade 12 students we will have a programme which

  • Offers the Czech Maturita to all Czech nationals

  • Provide qualification which allow all students to attend an outstanding university

  •  Delivers comprehensive careers counselling and support.

* Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
